Every year, the European Week of Action for Girls (EWAG) gathers young advocates to advance girls’ rights and gender equality in the EU space.
Looking at the next AU-EU Summit happening in February 2020, this year EWAG is providing a platform for girls to speak out about how the AU-EU Partnership can reflect their aspirations and unlock their potential, under the slogan #GirlsUnite.
Our young advocates think that the new partnership needs to put the issues that affect girls and young women in the EU and the AU at its centre. The main key areas they identified are: Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Education and Economic Empowerment and Political Participation.
For each of these areas, our young advocates shared their recommendations for the new AU-EU Partnership.
