Over 200 people attended events in Brussels for the fifth annual European Week of Action for Girls, which was under the theme: Goals for Girls Post-2015: Win, lose or draw?.
The Week challenged EU leaders to champion girls’ rights and empowerment by implementing transformative policies and practices and putting girls at the heart of efforts to achieve the Agenda 2030 goals and targets.
The week opened with a photography exhibition in the Luxembourg Permanent Representation to the EU.
The 5th edition of the Week of Action had a strong online element: co-organizers published opinion articles in online publications Devex and Euractiv, while 544 individuals tweeted using #eugirlsweek.
