The 5th edition of The Week of Action took place from 9 – 13 October 2017. Under the headline theme of girls’ empowerment, “Girls can…”, The Week demonstrated what girls can achieve when their rights are respected and protected. When they are protected, empowered and supported to fulfil their rights, girls can thrive, inspire and succeed.
The centrepiece was the inaugural European Week of Action for Girls “Girls’ Summit” which was held on 11 October to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. Read the summit recommendations here.
